I’m not writing from the mountaintop. I’m writing from the climb.
At 16, I left Ghana and moved to China alone.
No roadmap. Just a decision that something bigger was possible — and that I had to go find it.
I studied Computer Science, earned a Master’s in Control Science and Engineering, and I’m now deep into a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. On paper, that looks like a success story.
But a few years into that journey, I had to be honest with myself: the credentials were stacking up, but I wasn’t growing in the ways that actually mattered. Financially, I was drifting. Mentally, I was operating below what I knew I was capable of. And I had this quiet, persistent feeling that I was leaving most of my life on the table.
I think a lot of people know that feeling.
Why This Site Exists
I didn’t start abrahamyalley.com because I had everything figured out.
I started it because I got serious about figuring things out — and I believed that doing it in public, honestly, would be more useful to others than waiting until I had all the answers.
The vision is straightforward: grow deliberately across the areas of life that matter most, document what I learn along the way, and build something that helps other people do the same.
Those four areas — Philosophy, Systems & Productivity, Business & Wealth, and Learning & Skills — aren’t just content categories. They’re the pillars I’m actively building my own life around. Everything published here comes from real work, real experiments, and real results — including the failures.
No hacks. No noise. No recycled advice dressed up as insight. Just clear thinking, documented with intention.
A Bit More About Me
I’m Ghanaian. I’m a Christian. I’m a futures trader. I’m a PhD student. And I’m someone who genuinely loves basketball, reads more than most people think is reasonable, and gets more satisfaction from sharing a useful idea than almost anything else.
I’m building a business — not because I want to sell things, but because I want to create real leverage: the kind that lets me do more good, reach more people, and build something that lasts.
This site is the documentation of that process. The wins, the recalibrations, the frameworks that actually work, and the honest reflection on the ones that didn’t.
Who This Is For
If you’re someone who suspects you’re capable of more than your current life reflects — this is for you.
If you’ve looked at your finances, your habits, or your daily routine and thought something needs to change, but I don’t know where to start — this is for you.
If you want to think more clearly, build more intentionally, and grow in areas that actually compound over time — you’re in the right place.
You don’t need to have it together. You just need to be serious about getting there.
Let’s Build Together
The best place to start is the Builder’s Notes newsletter — a free weekly dispatch where I share honest lessons from the journey. Practical, personal, and always worth your time.
